Hi everyone! wow i am so lucky to have watch afficiandos like you on my side! I think my husband will have to become a collector by default... pity there really isnt much collecting in women's watches... or perhaps there is and i'm not so aware.
i'm concerned about the red sub in two ways.
1.) the one i'm purchasing is obviously used. it is in good condition but does not have papers. how will i know that it is "real". I know it's been recently serviced by rolex, or so the shop claims... is there anything else i should look for?
2.) is the rolex too common? granted the red sub i think is iconic as well... but as a brand and even the red sub.. it had millions made correct? my husband is british and i think europeans are a little tainted with the idea that rolex is not so exclusive... what are your thoughts on that?

Red Subs....definitely not common
Is the retailer reputable? It is a shame it does not have papers as that is always a big plus with a watch that old. I agree with you on Rolex sometimes being seen as common. But I think that definitely does not apply to vintage Rolex...and in the Red Sub...
