I'll just say this ...
If you can, try to get the watch sized and fitted for YOUR wrist and see for yourself before you reach any conclusion.
Today we got 3.5 links removed from the bracelet, and it’s so, so comfortable, it was hard to give it back!
My friend has a 2008 Mk I DSSD, and he likes it better than his!!!!
About the weight, get this … Full DSC with ALL the links weighs ***LESS*** than the standard DSSD with a few links removed!!!!
I have a small wrist, so I had doubts about this watch as well.
So again, if you can, try to get the watch sized and fitted for YOUR wrist and see for yourself before you reach any conclusion. You may be pleasantly surprised!!!
I don’t have the full possession of the watch yet, but when I do, I’m going to wear the heck out of it!!!! It looks EXACTLY how a big bad@$$ mega-diver should look like and is supremely, supremely comfortable!!!

It is unwearable, unless you partner it with one of those blow up Sumo suits, but you can still wear it if it makes you happy 😁

Correct me if I’m wrong but the first two versions were never actually worn by humans. Hard to categorize it as a “tool watch” then. The watches dimensions were decided without consideration of human wearability.

smaller, slimmer watches for dressier occasions, big and sporty watches for more casual times. And, after all this watch is designed for a certain purpose, which requires it to be big ... and as such I don't see any problem with that!
