I re worked a bit this picture I took from Corrado Matarelli's website, " Only Vintage ".
I am more fan of the vintage GMT MASTER, but when you see Submariners like these, you can only admire them.
The original insert, the superb dials, the gilt hands, the lollipop second hand ( 6538 ), the white second hands...
Now, putting them side by side helps you to see the difference between a Submariner Big and Small Crown.
The 6538 is much more macho, while the 6536 is more delicate, subtle, elegant?
Both are very tempting. And they are excellent representative of how seductive a Submariner can be.

No crown guard Submariners are historic pieces.
Charming and elegant for the gentleman is the 6536/1 and brutal and powerful for sport gentlemen with secret missions is the 6538. Sweet.
I am slowly (very slowly) appreciating vintage watches
but I seem to prefer the vintage dress watches like the Gold omegas or Cartiers or VCs.... Less so the sporty dive or chrono vintages Thanks Nico for the inspiration always Cheers Robin
