But then such a shaped movement couldn't be based on the round lemania 2310...

What a stunning watch.

I've never seen this model from RD but I think this is a showstopper. Remarkable!

A local watchmaker here in Hong Kong could read this watch instantly.

So I was happy that he / his shop service this piece. That said, a local Roger Dubuis salesman does not seem to understand this watch.

I enjoy the Carlos Dias aesthetics of early RD (the brand)

In the mid 2000s, even pre-richemont (2008), RD overall styling gets too expansive, for me. But in time I want to wrap my head around Carlos Dias' later (mid-2000s) designs. I am learning to 'read' the SY 40 14 0, a sympathie gone mad.

No, the dial is heavily lacquered, not porcelain.

Early RDs show up in a particularly wide range of case sizes, from 22mm to 47mm approx. Among these, the wearable ones are indeed "a real joy".

One of the 2 RDs has gone for coffee. Vendor’s chronograph movement shot. ...

Well I would not say 'best' of anything.

There are many good roger dubuis references swimming around. Here in HKG I feel fortunate to be able to get in touch with quite a few.

Lemme post another one

Taken today, while waiting for a stop light to change color. Frontal view ...

I hope so. But the dimensions (32 x 44 rectangle plus petite lugs)

Make this RD wearable for men only. This piece is clearly and emphatically NOT unisex. Then could something 'exclusively manly' also exude charisma and charm? I always hope so.

Right?

This monopoussoir caliber 28 fits into another RD timepiece (G34 28) that measures a smaller 34 x 34mm square, but the g34 monopusher has a truncated, wonky dial that is not worth the great caliber 28. This 32 wide x 44mm long frame&dial makes perfect aes...

Replying to my own post

Let me post a (fairly good) picture of the monopusher. Vendor picture of sold g34 28 monopoussoir Numerals at '3' & '9' are chopped off. ...

On paper this piece should satisfy all aesthetic aspects

This G34 has on its side size, bicolor subdials, the caliber 28: but I can't appreciate this dial at this time. I think the numerals here are awful. Perhaps this piece in real could convince me otherwise.

I have been thinking about this comment over the past weeks

Firstly, I was too harsh about the dial design of G34 28. Secondly, now I want to track one down and handle one in person. Will post pictures if I can. Regards,

I found a better picture of the Roger DubuisG34 monopusher chronograph,

And I could detect my feelings for the g34 change, in a positive direction. See the contrasting mop (nacre for you) guilloche pattern within the minute track, and the slight discoloration of the track at minutes '23' and '57'. Picture from current (Japane...
