This monopoussoir caliber 28 fits into another RD timepiece (G34 28) that measures a smaller 34 x 34mm square, but the g34 monopusher has a truncated, wonky dial that is not worth the great caliber 28. This 32 wide x 44mm long frame&dial makes perfect aesthetic sense to me.
Only in a long case could the founder designer Carlos Dias fit his exploded (arabic) numerals.

A local watchmaker here in Hong Kong could read this watch instantly.
So I was happy that he / his shop service this piece. That said, a local Roger Dubuis salesman does not seem to understand this watch.
I enjoy the Carlos Dias aesthetics of early RD (the brand)
In the mid 2000s, even pre-richemont (2008), RD overall styling gets too expansive, for me. But in time I want to wrap my head around Carlos Dias' later (mid-2000s) designs. I am learning to 'read' the SY 40 14 0, a sympathie gone mad.
No, the dial is heavily lacquered, not porcelain.
Early RDs show up in a particularly wide range of case sizes, from 22mm to 47mm approx. Among these, the wearable ones are indeed "a real joy".
Well I would not say 'best' of anything.
There are many good roger dubuis references swimming around. Here in HKG I feel fortunate to be able to get in touch with quite a few.

Yes, quite off-white. Deep lacquer to make the wearer think the subdials are winking at the wearer.
The off-white offers good legibility in the day, and beautiful contrast against the chrono's blue hands.

Make this RD wearable for men only. This piece is clearly and emphatically NOT unisex. Then could something 'exclusively manly' also exude charisma and charm? I always hope so.

On paper this piece should satisfy all aesthetic aspects
This G34 has on its side size, bicolor subdials, the caliber 28: but I can't appreciate this dial at this time. I think the numerals here are awful. Perhaps this piece in real could convince me otherwise.
