If someone handed me a $250,000 dollar watch for free

I’d probably wear it too!

True but they are not all given or lent.

Unless if the individual had some dramatic falling out, post-ambassadorship, then wearing a piece given to them is free advertising to the brand. Probably then in the interest of giving them a watch.

I can imagine the pit crew staff who wear RM’s during races are not given but rather “issued” at the beginning of a season.

+1!

Football players are not allowed to wear watches on the field

I think it was mentioned by Richard Mille himself why he would not put money in football or basketball sponsorship - players cannot wear watches on the field, which is different than e.g. tennis players.

Well said...

Plus the fact that RM are unique watches with, probably, the best finishing in the market.

A $250k watch that maybe cost RM 10% of that is equivalent

To one super cheap add in a major publication. No brainer in my book.

you think its even 10% ? :-)

can't really say what I think about that brand cause I might get banned from this site

Honestly I think its less as well but at that number maybe someone could take me seriously

Entire automobiles can be delivered at retail for well under $25k so no reason to think this would cost more than that. Maybe for a new guy in year 1, but not for a brand like RM in year, what is it, 20?

Perhaps Its lightness, comfort and price ie rich success

Is unmatched by anyone. Closest competitor would be Gshock. Actually this piece is more difficult to find ...

ROFL!

I agree with FabR

RM has been really active sponsoring drivers/teams in F1

 By: cmmnsens : March 26th, 2021-21:16
The watches of Alonso and Leclerc are all personalized to them - as well as Kimi’s. I think for this season RM created a new McLaren RM 67 edition you can see the drivers started wearing this weekend in Bahrain.

Paid for marketing

Awful watches oposite to good style and understatement

Simple. Any watch weighing more'n an RM'll cost you,

slowing you down. Same reason they don't grow full beards... Cheers Marc

McLaren have no watch company put on the cars. Why???

They have (RM)

 By: FlyingSnoopy : March 28th, 2021-01:32

Agree

 By: Weems@8 : March 28th, 2021-05:01
Yes, i seen it at the side pods. First i looked at the front wing, so i thought no watch sponsor. I looked at the Alpine, where is the place of the watch sponsor?

ROFL - perfect answer my friend!

Hehehe!

 By: amanico : March 29th, 2021-06:48

Easy

 By: chris4 : March 29th, 2021-00:49
Because RM makes by far the most interesting & sporting watches currently available, simple as that. Obv helps if you have lots of cash, as we know they are not cheap, but given that money is not an object then RM is just the most amazing watches u ca...

Cuz they get 'em for free???

 By: Mostel : April 2nd, 2021-20:07
So they can be featured in huge promotional-value races and etc etc??? It's not totally impossible, but very unlikely these race guys choose to pay the price for these watches... RM has made racing cars his 'brand' Shrug... If I were a betting man... 99% ...
