This is a major purchase.
I've been closely asking myself what I would go for in the complicated RMs.
I love the RM021 or the RM027 but the budgets are an issue.
And I could go for the origins of the brand with the RM002 or the RM004.
Btw, I didn't realized the RM003 was bigger than the RM002: I thought only the Dual Time disk was added.
Anyway, the RM004 is thicker and, as you say, the servicing is often needed.
I came to the same conclusion as you did: a late RM002 would have been my choice for a tourbillon RM.
So congratulations Roger and I'm sure you'll enjoy it a lot.

Thanks for the find words Andrew. Based on how long it took me to find one in as new condition it would seem collectors are indeed latching on to the early models. I love the more recent pieces of course but the very limited production of the early pieces...
