I have been looking for a while.......

I have owned a lot of RMs over the years but had never had one of the "grand complication" models - I had focused on the 2/3/4/14 and 15 models. Whilst I love the 8, it's too much to have sunk in a single watch. Prices of 21 and 22 also a little above my comfort zone for an RM. Having seen the 14 and 15 on a few occasions, I ruled it out due to the ribbed bezel, which I felt was/is a little contrived and detracting from the simplicity and elegance of the plain bezels. I then enquired over a few 4s and either they didn't exist where advertised or the sellers did not respond which drives me nuts. In the end I wasn't able to find one at what I considered to be the market price and in immaculate condition. A couple of pieces I saw where clearly in need of a service, and for the 4 you need to allow at least 12 months for service.
Then it was down to the 2 or the 3, and I had a slight preference for the size of the 3 but preferred the less cluttered dial of the 2. I also had a slight preference for the V2 carbon baseplate model thinking the V1 a little too plain. And having got to this stage it was simply a question of finding one with a dealer I trusted and who was happy to work through some trade ins. Et voila - all done!
