I was driving late afternoon past a lake near my home village and saw this beauty. fortunately there was a parking lot along the dike, stopped the car, grabbed the camera that was lying on the passenger seat and shot these as the giant was circling back ...  

He is a bit late then coz our grand child was born in March haha

I think I’ll start with city shots, static, capture my Philly. But, I am saving for that camera first, and I’ll need to make time, with work and family and all.

The Great Blue Heron is such a beautiful bird — fantastic shots.

I was so lucky that it circled back towards my location so I had some time to get my camera etc.

That last one shows some bushes in the background which gives sense of context

That 3rd one I added because it’s where the wings and legs are stretched and almost perfectly aligned like a horizontal plane

I can never get the camera settings done in time and then focus in time.

that once you know your gear really well, switching settings comes naturally. Only takes reading that damned manual plus few hours of practice. That wise man is our photography moderator from Japan
