Photography

It's the old ask 100 different photographers question & answer. Recently I did a quick un-scientific search of YouTube videos, looking for the top 10 Mostly related to business oriented photographers... Top two applications listed were Lightroom and Photo...  

What I use, in chronological order of use. 01) Canon DPP (Digital Photo Professional). It came with my Canon 30D when I got into digital photography. I still have that camera, and it still produces good images with a kit zoom EF-S lens. I still use DPP to... 

I use to have LR on my PC but since a few years ago I have been exclusively using the imac and their Photos uploader which has basic editing, to substantially increase workflow and ease of use.

I also tried LR but the application never clicked. All I really need are simple adjustments, although at times I would like to do some regional dodge / burn. Casey

although I wish organizing the libraries was easier to do.

so finding a specific image is a consideration... I guess if I was starting over, and given today's technology I might do it differently. At the moment I am happy with my yearly selections of 10 as a reference. From time to time I look through the shoebox... 

I use Photoshop Creative Suite 6 ( I own it) mostly to correct with skewed signs

For digital, I have only shot Canon, up until I picked up the Fuji x100t. I always felt that PS was a bit of an overkill... I guess once you settle in with an application it's easy to stick with it. Casey

In my working life I dealt mostly with Illustrator although I have the whole Creative Suite package. In fact I made up around 2000 pages of elementary math lessons like this. That constant repetition of use makes it hard to forget ... and hostile to upgra...

It is an older version that I had bought at the time and still does what it should do. The RAW files I develop in the app that came with the camera. But the watch shots I do for PuristPro and Instagram are all shot in JPG, yes, I am a bit lazy. Lightroom ... 

BTW... Loved your recent photo of the "new generation Santos_Dumont models"... Some of the top 10 application lists I previewed included both "Photo Mechanic" (a culling and selecting app) -and- Lightroom in a workflow, where the latter app just focused o...

I might gather from your comments that how the photo will be displayed might be a factor in how it's processed. I wonder if e.g. Ansel Adams was sharing his photos on the internet he might not have been so particular. Although I must admit his dodging and... 

I am walking let's say 2 miles, have to keep moving to keep my wife happy, and probably averaging about 60-80 shots along the way. It's opportunistic and completely unscripted. So there are sunrises, birds, ships, weather, scenery etc. and the Sony RX-10 ...

Take for example framing. I remember cropping photos to a specific size because my exhibit partner decided last minute on a specific print size. If I knew beforehand, I would have stepped back a few steps for ever photo that I took :p

I tend to use Luminar 4 most followed by PhotoShop followed by basic editing as it comes with Apple OS (pretty good I must say) or IOS (pretty basic features only) Reason I use Luminar 4 is that I find the interface relatively easy and intuitive. In addit...

I have been using PhotoShop for the past 15 years and feel comfortable with it. In the beginning, I was about to abandon it several times because it was so complicated to learn, but I struggled. I had lots of filters to play with and thought that and thou...

to avoid time consume postpro.... As for me Lightroom on iMac and Snapseeds on my phone

With digital post processing I never spend more than a few moments... more time and it just gets worse ; ) With scanned film a bit more time is needed to clean up the scan and the inevitable dust / hair / scratches from the lab... just a matter of time. C...
