Definitely, go out and shoot more. 

And post more.

Work hangs in the balance so a lot of "what if" planning in my head.

From a gear perspective, I almost bought the new Dlux. I was going to be customer #1. But then the store didn't pull through at the aforementioned date. Interest waned. I passed on it when it finally came out. The store got a bit worried and sent me a PM. Was there anything wrong. I just said that there was nothing wrong with the product and everything to do with the nature of an impulse buy… you need to have it on the shelf when the customer is most willing to open his wallet. There's only a short window for these things so… if supply does not meet eager demand, wallet contraction may happen

So I might at some point reconsider buying one. I tried a Dlux6 and really loved using the macro at its closest focusing range. I liked the bokeh. I even tried shooting it in RAW which was surprisingly nice. Files are more flexible. If I get the new Dlux, it will be for macro and for usual p&s duties.

I'm also considering getting the new iMac 27" 5K Retina display. Lots of people say what for likening it to misguided arguments about megapixels and how you only need so much. I saw a side by side with a regular iMac. The latter isn't bad and without a point of comparison, you won't be able to tell that you may be missing out on a bit more detail. But then isn't that what being a Purist is all about in certain respects? Going for that one little unnoticeable thing that differentiates good from cool? Of course, the price difference translates to a new Dlux so I might dial down on that being-a-Purist bit

Reagrdless of how the what ifs go, shooting more is definitely in the agenda… just how much more and where remains to be seen!
