More delicate expression

Both are lovely portraits...

any 'choice' depends on how the photo will be used, what context, etc. I went as far as converting both to b&w to help visualize the portraits at a basic level... Personal choice would be the side view... Casey .

Need some help.

I've been trying to understand photography as art. For a long time. I don't know what to look for. To me, these are all great photos. I'm happy with the photos my phone takes. I get it that some of this is personal preference etc. But what am I supposed t...

As a fellow flรขneur you surely have time to observe society, and that's part of the process. Photograph as "art" is only a small part, but let's look at the whole. As a side note, many critics tend to be pushing their own agenda... beware the critic beari...

You have a point about her beautiful eyes...

Well, Mike...

I feel strongly both ways. You choose for me.

Second, the little piercing thing on her face in the first photo looks like a flaw or dirt on the image

 By: cazalea : November 12th, 2020-14:49
by the time I look closely enough to see what it is, I have lost interest in the image.

I have to agree that on the photo the outcome of this detail is not ideal

 By: Mike H : November 14th, 2020-02:50
But with post processing I never add or remove anything for remaining faithful to the reality. I can adjust the light, play with shadows... but I donโ€™t remove details. Here for once maybe I should have done it. Thanks for your feedback

Yes, it's a philosophical thing - what and how much to edit

 By: cazalea : November 14th, 2020-11:01
I change my photos all the time because I am mostly taking outdoors shots and I tend to remove street signs, litter, things like that which draw the eye away from the point of the image. I'm not that interested in the "reality" of litter or potholes. It m...

Photo 2

 By: Jurry : November 13th, 2020-04:57
Both are great but photo 2 to me is the winner because of: a) The skin tone on photo 1 has either bit too much makeup or too much editing (which some like a lot, I personally favor more natural skin tones) b) I could be wrong but to me, it looks as if I c...

Many thanks for your kind words

And thank you for your vote. Fierce competition 11 to 8 so far, photo #2 is winning so far but the only real winner is Laurie she is a great model

Thank you all for your votes, I was positively surprised by the number of feedbacks and comments

 By: Mike H : November 15th, 2020-02:32
#2 wins 12 to 8 and it makes me very happy : imho #1 is maybe more eye catching and shows everything with her beautiful eyes looking straight forward at the camera, while #2 is more mysterious, we wonder what Laurie is thinking about and the more pastel c...
