I think it is a myth...
Until I see one in person ;-) Now, I need to find a good spot to observe sunsets until I see a green flash, with a fresh beer in hand
after enough beers you're sure to see a green flash ; )
the green flash usually lasts for no more than two seconds so you have to be quick - hehehe...
So it does really exist?
There was a (quite bad) French movie called 'Le Rayon Vert' 30 years ago about this phenomenon.
I became interested in Green Flashes
after watching the following (rather long) video where the phenomenon was mentioned in the Q&A session (last 15 minutes of the video)... BTW the Lewin series of lectures is quite interesting...

I have seen the green flash three times...
Sorry no pictures. Very very difficult to catch.... In my case looking each time across Lake Huron towards Michigan. If you blink, you miss it.
