Patek Philippe

yes, I changed the question because I'm trying to avoid problems

You're correct in that it seems that yellow gold references are the least appreciated except in grail/unobtainable/prohibitively expensive examples. I understand that what really matters is what you feel in your heart when you try the watch on in person.

I was hoping that folks would give some examples of Patek (mid range) references that look better in J than they do in P, R, G or stainless steel.  But it seems that J is usually (or perhaps always) in last place when given the choice between all available metals.  Poor J!

I felt that if I was too specific in my question (for example, writing 'mid-range') I would have been shouted down by the price police. ;-)

Best,
Robert
