I am in Switzerland and while I do agree with some of your points I think that this was inevitable: at the current euro/chf exchange rate it would make no sense for someone in Switzerland (or a tourist) to buy from here. You have Germany, France and Italy just 2 hours away so it would simply be very difficult for Patek or other luxury brand to maintain their prices at the current level in Swiss Francs.
I understand your feeling but I also think that nobody (not even Patek
has any control on foreign exchange and were left with little options.
As a more general statement I think that watches are not a great investment (very few options) so should only buy what you love at a price your comfortable with. Prices can move up or down but I don't think it should matter that much. Of course Patek and all luxury watch companies just want to turn a profit and this is why they changed the pricing so quickly (e.g. they don't want sales in Switzerland to drop).
Historically the patek prices in Switzerland were always a bit lower than the U.S. or Europe.
