Whilst I hate the grey skies and grey mood here in the U.K.
I never tire of looking at this grey object.
I recently had a heated debate on IG with a guy who was trying to slate the 5960 and his only reason was because it’s value is low at auction and on the market and that too many were produced. When I pushed him for reasons why he disliked the model he struggled to come up with any other than value and then said he had to go. I pointed out to him that Patek don’t over produce any complications in a platinum case. Someone did point out to him that there are far fewer on the market than people think.
This was after I pointed out to him that this watch was the first in-house self winding Chronograph with Fly back which was a historic point for Patek it was an annual calendar it was housed in Platinum and looks good.
This watch has a very special place in my heart despite its unpopularity and poor value retention or investment potential..... I think this is why I love it so much.

maybe hope for us mere mortals. I get by in UK with a 16520 Daytona and a PAM 22A and can only dream of a complicated Patek. Only Patek I've had was a 5120J

The watch market is a fickle place and with most great Pateks it can take time for them to reach greatness. Buy what you like and let the market come to you.
