History in the making
The 5960, especially the first reference, this 5960P-001, holds a very special place in modern PP history, for the reasons you mentioned. But, beyond that, it is a very beautiful, understated and cool statement piece, representing what PP is all about. A platinum annual calendar chronograph, presented simultaneously both in a subtle and effective way, somewhere between dress and sport - basically can be worn anywhere and everywhere, except going swimming with it!
The fact that it has a rather low resale price in the secondary market right now is truly irrelevant. Everyone seems to be looking at the Nautilus and the Aquanaut. Well that's fine, those are also great watches, with their own history and merits. I like them both, I own both. But, to me, looking back at the last 15 years, the 5960 and especially the 5960P-001 is what defines Patek Philippe as a brand. This and the 5070.
Cheers!
