To reach a Grail...
Hello Friends!
This is my first post here, though most of you know me from my participation in other brands sections (mainly Rolex) here at PuristS.
I wish to share my excitement and happiness of reaching a long time wished Grail: a Patek Philippe 5110G World Time.
This watch needs no presentation. Many wonderful posts have been published previously here.
I have been dreaming with this reference for around four years.
Two years ago this same timepiece was offered to me by its owner but I had to refuse his offering in that occasion. The watch kept haunting me during all that time.
I´ve been following the posts of different colleagues here, owners of World Time watches during these long years. An enjoyable reading which caused to throw more fire to my desire of owning this watch.
Surprisingly around October 2014 the owner of this watch sent me a note announcing that he was after another PP reference and he would probably be needing to sell this watch to fund his new purchase. Then, during first days of last December I received the confirmation that the watch was for sale and a long dealing followed for about three weeks trying to arrive to a final deal.
Everything was arranged during the first days of January and I finally got my Grail last week, and this watch has been on my wrist since then.
I´m sure you can understand my feelings for this watch.
The guiloché on the dial, the case, the beautiful hands, everything exudes class and high quality. Design is timeless. Sublime!
It is a very special timepiece: It has Soul! It has Magic! It has Charm! It makes me dream with travels to some exotic and far places, as well as with visiting favorite cities and dear friends around the World. It makes me feel I reached the Sky!
I wanted to share some pictures of my new watch and discovered that it is one of the most difficult pieces to photograph in my collection. The polished surface of the case always reflects my own presence behind the camera ruining every picture! Here are just a few just to illustrate this post.
