Patek Philippe

I’ve fallen in love with this reference (and am impressed by the never-ending roll-call thread). I’m trying to choose between the 5960/1A-001 (steel, white dial, which I’ve seen in the metal), the 5960-01G (WG, blue dial), and the 5960P-015 (PT, blue dial... 

I find the bracelet very comfortable and versatile, looks shiny and new even with scratches and no worries like Nautilus. The 01G version must be due to the how "unpopular" these bracelets were...I have not measure the dimensions but I would think the /1A...  

In the past, I had an issue with the stark white subdial, but I can appreciate it now within the whole aesthetic. I had the all black 5960p and remember this model being a little thick, but not top heavy in a problematic way. Seeing the posts makes me thi... 

It lets you know its presence. I love the /1A bracelet version because it's almost worry free and I wear it quite a lot.

Thank you CC, and brilliant photos. A 5960 newbie question: is there more than one grey-dial version of the 5960p? The grey I’ve seen in photos seems to vary between darker and lighter grey, though the dials otherwise look identical. Just a trick of the l...

The best is to pick the variant that sings you, but if they are even, and if you're buying preowned, where prices are similar (+-) I'd go with the 5960P, There is an added charm in wearing a platinum Patek with that little sparkling diamond hidden at 6.

Nicer hands, framed windows, tasti tondi pushers sealed the deal for me.

Small detail that does a lot

I think you’ve not included the nicest original version. Having seen them all in the flesh and having them on my wrist the launch version of the 5960 with its Geneva seal is still the one to own. For me that is. It’s a no brainer. Just to demonstrate my p...  

For me marks something special. Don’t believe all the rumours of “they made too many of them” because Patek don’t make too many Platinum anything I can assure you. Let your eyes do the work for you. It has done me well for over 40 years. M.

Do not forget the rose gold case models especially the first one with the brown anthracite dial that is very nice in real too. ...  

I’m leaning towards the 5960/01G. Reasons: cool details, slightly less top-heavy than the PT, but still massive enough to suit the price point, and no bracelet issue.

It is the perfect package for all the complications that I love. Different versions can be totally different watches. I would wear the still on bracelet, that's the whole point. You can transform it from time to time but if you really want a watch on stra...  

And best if you could nail an anthracite dial. I think that’s the OG, if not, I find that anthracite grey to be the most beautiful. I had a pretty nice deal come my way couple of years back and that was why I bought the blue dial in P. Also I thought blue... 

I bought the last-released variant — blue dial, WG. But not too late for you: that white A would perfectly complement your blue P.
