Many dislike the bracelet version from the beginning...and some early members were successful in converting those into straps.
I find the bracelet very comfortable and versatile, looks shiny and new even with scratches and no worries like Nautilus.
The 01G version must be due to the how "unpopular" these bracelets were...I have not measure the dimensions but I would think the /1A and /01G are same. If you are concern with the gap, then you need a custom strap with curve rather than straight ends. The gap is just like any other watches, not a problem for me.
The 01G dial is like 5522A, matt and not radiant as the P.

Yes the P is a little top heavy but still wearable....
It lets you know its presence. I love the /1A bracelet version because it's almost worry free and I wear it quite a lot.

One more point to consider
The best is to pick the variant that sings you, but if they are even, and if you're buying preowned, where prices are similar (+-) I'd go with the 5960P, There is an added charm in wearing a platinum Patek with that little sparkling diamond hidden at 6.
I own the G. I also tried on the P with grey dial. While the P has the obvious advantage of being in platinum, the G being the final iteration looks like the finished product.
Nicer hands, framed windows, tasti tondi pushers sealed the deal for me.

For me marks something special. Don’t believe all the rumours of “they made too many of them” because Patek don’t make too many Platinum anything I can assure you. Let your eyes do the work for you. It has done me well for over 40 years. M.

I’m leaning towards the 5960/01G. Reasons: cool details, slightly less top-heavy than the PT, but still massive enough to suit the price point, and no bracelet issue.
