....just seen this PP 5085/1A for sale. 2003. 38mm. Beautiful micro-rotor. Could be my first PP. Anyone have this model or thoughts on it?? Many thanks. Best, John. ...
The most comfortable watch with a metal bracelet i have ever owned/worn. At the time it was the only watch with complications you could purchase in steel if i remember correctly. All the best Tim
Alkiro, if you don't know if the bracelet is integrated to the watch, maybe you haven't held one. If that's the case, this watch looks different in metal than photos and does not show so shiny. Just my opinion.
and it was my daily beater. Really great watch, very much flies under the radar. It's probably not aligned with today's tastes with the small (36mm diameter) and the shiny bracelet, but who cares. Bracelet is very very comfortable as is the entire watch. ...
Agreed with what mentioned above, but beware that it is not 38mm diameter but rather a 36mm ! It will look a bit bigger than a 36, but you should definitely try it on. Watch out for the shiny bracelet as well, but bear in mind you can always change it to ...
But as mentioned above do take care about the size. When I put on 3940 it feels small, I switch back to 5146 and that feels big i.e. One soon acclimatises but try to be sure - would be a shame to buy it then not give it enough wrist time!
The ref on the pic is 5055G in white gold. While it is very similar and shares the movement with 5085 the latter has a different case with the two middle "teeth" not part of the bracelet but rather of the case.
The case appears to have the 5085 ridge design around the edge. The piece also has holes in the lug ends? Currently for sale and advertised as a 5085 steel piece. I'm not familiar with either model so purely looking at the photos.
The lugs are like 5085 and not 5055 and also the lug holes as you pointed out. I guess one possibility is that it really is a 5085 that soneone has butchered the case on by grinding off the bracelet attachment teeth?
Have had the 5085 for many years. It definitely wears at 37mm or maybe bigger because of the permanent links on both sides of the bezel. When I compare this watch side by side with my 5035, which is 36mm, the 5085 definitely shows bigger. The watch is ver...
At 37mm, it's quite nice. I own it too. The micro rotor looks much nicer than a half rotor and the bracelet tapering to the case is something I love (similar to the AP ROs on bracelet). Well worth the money!
I mean what's the point of the lug holes? Isn't it for easy swapping of straps etc.? Anyone has pictures of head and bracelet separate? I would love to see. Much appreciated.
I have now added one to my collection - stunning piece and amazingly comfortable. As others have said, the most comfortable bracelet watch bar none. Super clear dial with 240 micro rotor movement. ...
The bracelet can be removed of course but would require a custom strap to be made to fit around the case protrusions between the lugs. A properly made strap with good fitment would look great.
