I had ones a damaged Tissot by a kitchen floor fall. 
My first automatic watch. Not so long ago in 2018.
On a Monday morning… it falls of my wrist by i was not woke up nicely.
In a rush making coffee, and it happen.
I wrote a typical Richard Nixon note, and the Swatch service center understood why it needed a free repair.
After awhile the watch had his hay days, so time to get something new.
That it is a quartz have nothing to do with the fall of my Tissot.
I was pulled over by a Longines advertorial where a Conquest VHP was the watch with a high accuracy and great features.
bounced my 5296 calatrava dial down on my countertop - any experience with cost to repair

As a rule, I never do anything with my watches (set time, wind, etc) unless I’m sitting down and have the watch over a soft surface (ie it can fall into my lap, etc). Dropped a Breitling one time onto the kitchen floor from about 5 feet up - wasn’t pretty...
i'm usually pretty disciplined about it but was overly exuberant about trying a new strap.
i edited to add there's no apparent damage, so we'll see how it goes

I set my watches when sit, but i do strap on watches sometimes when i stand. I know a fallen watch, but it was an affordable Tissot. My fault, and the Swatch service center repair my watch for free. The service center replaced the hands. They where bended...

Well, at least the sapphire crystal isn't broken and there's no case damage. Hopefully there's nothing loose in the movement.
Filed an insurance claim and full repair at HSWA up to the value of the watch will be covered with no deductible
I'm pretty impressed that they understood it needs to be repaired at HSWA and not by watch battery changer person at mall bodega (which i was worried about!) Upon examination I had dinged the bezel a lot worse than i thought, so it's not going to be cheap...
Wow! What type of insurance policy?
Nice to have it covered!! The only policy I know of for watches are the type that insures for replacement value if stolen. Didn’t know there is a policy that covers accidental repairs as well.
