Miles -- Many thanks for your thoughts. You have expressed very well my own thoughts on collecting over the years. I have found that sometimes the love affair develops over time, but most often the pieces that strike a lasting emotional chord do so from the outset. Whether I am fortunate enough to find myself in a position to someday own a particular piece, the emotional connection is undeniable and the pleasure derived from admiring it, even from afar, are undeniable. I believe that ultimately "collecting" is (should be) an outgrowth, enabled by good fortune, of a passion and strongly held emotions toward the objects of the collection, whatever they may be.

I originally fancied the black dial but would prefer it to be enamel
but since I now have the 5370, I may shoot for a rose gold instead. After all, they say RG produces the best sound....

Sorry I missed your post because I moved house, and changed to a new smart phone at the same time, and somehow was unable to log on
the Purist Mark was able to respond with his thread (btw, his pictures are great). I, on the other hand, prefer manual wind watches. I have a hard time setting the automatic watches to 10 past 10 as there often is unconsumed energy....funny habit I know....
