Removing patina
Hello - I ordered the cape cod cloth and since I was in Geneva, I decided to go back to Patek and they showed me pics when I dropped it off which show the patina at that point too. Strangely I cannot remember but the watch has been with Patek for 9 odd months, maybe I forgot. In any case they were kind enough to clean the case for me. Most of the patina seems to be gone now, I will try removing the remaining patina with the cape cod cloth when I get back home. Must say, Patek service is excellent, even for a customer like me who is not buying anything.

Patina on case
Just collected my 2555 after service at Patek and I noticed this Patina which I dont recall being there earlier. I was not even aware that a case could patina like this. Is this normal on a case? Should it be left as is? Any advice is appreciated. Thank y...

Cape Cod cloth as I read the original post. They are pretty amazing.

Just go over it once and then it disappears immediately? I have used cape cod in the past but never for or on watches.

looks more like heat marking from soldering
did pp say if they did any case/lug repairs. if it was gold staining then the crown would also be stained-but is new and shiny -replaced/changed at service? can not see from the photo-is the screw caseback also stained or just the case body? what does the...
I would be shocked if PP did that. Maybe was exposed to something and or humidity.
I don’t see them sending like that unless maybe it arrived that way?

the case could of been annealed-before pp did any case work that was required on the service. working on an old gold case without annealing can cause cracking/splits etc
