did pp say if they did any case/lug repairs.
if it was gold staining then the crown would also be stained-but is new and shiny -replaced/changed at service?
can not see from the photo-is the screw caseback also stained or just the case body?
what does the paperwork from the service say about the service?

I would be shocked if PP did that. Maybe was exposed to something and or humidity.
I donāt see them sending like that unless maybe it arrived that way?
i agree steve E -very unusual
the case could of been annealed-before pp did any case work that was required on the service. working on an old gold case without annealing can cause cracking/splits etc
