Nautilus 5711 Rotor Stuck
Hi all, I have been a passive reader of this site for quite some time now. Today I am reaching out to all of you because I recently encountered a problem with my Nautilus 5711/1A. I purchased this watch just a little under two years ago and wore it in extremely good health. Today I noticed that the rotor has completely stopped moving. The watch still runs perfectly but has to be wound every day, even if I don't take it off. Has anybody ever encountered a similar problem ?
I was told that the watch has to be sent to the Patek service center which could take around 2-6 months depending on whether the watch has to be sent to Geneva (probably not). My AD has offered to have one of his servicemen repair the watch. He informs me that this will only take 1-2 weeks but it will void the watch's 2 year warranty (which I have around 1.5 months left). Even though I trust my AD, the thought of having someone else service the watch makes me nervous. I was wondering if anybody has serviced their Pateks with a third party. Should I send it to Patek and wait it out or have my AD do it ? Your input is much appreciated.
Thanks.
