Having it available for charter is a way to offset some of the running costs but also qualifies for other business advantages on expenses and other .... issues. This is the case for almost any big yacht and thier owners.

Shipyard Owner: “Yes of course Mr Stern. But I’m afraid you will have to wait a while. Everybody wants one. And others are building yachts twice as big and spending three times as much. I will put you on our waiting list.”
