Hi, I bought one of 5235 when it came out and and got a significant discount, there are great deals on them right now. It is a wonderful watch and quite unique in the Patek collections, movement only made for for that watch (for now), the only regulator Patek has ever made, the dial is beautiful and you get an annual calendar. Getting one now would be a nice gift to yourself, I don’t know how you can wait 4 years? You could always get it now and pay over time if needed then you would pay for it by your BD in 4 years but get to enjoy it now?
IMHO if you want to wait/plan longer, I would not put a set date (your BD) to the purchase, I would keep my eye on the watch and news and if you see they are going to discontinue it make your move. I hope they do discontinue it as I want it to go up in value and I believe they will discontinue it probably in one ot two years. My two cents worth, if your choose to wait, there is alway the option to sell another watch or two or a car or?

I see the 5235 in almost every AD I go into; I've been to ADs in Singapore, USA, and France in the past six months. They're readily available.
I have seen two in London and I am not even looking for it
One at the London Salon and the other pre-owned at a great discount and in a great condition at a well-known store.
Just back from London...
and even though I was actively looking, as I have had an interest in this particular reference for some time, I did not see a single 5235 on display either in NB St. or Knightsbridge. If my source is correct, 5235 will be discontinued soon.
I first heard the discontinuation rumour 3 years ago; an AD wanted me to get it from her as the original purchaser had pulled out

I agree with Janef and others that the dial is art. I am still getting used to reading the time, but it is very comfortable on the wrist, more so than the smaller but "headier" 5146, which tends to wobble on my wrist. Of course this watch is not everyone'...

Well done and congratulations. It is my favourite Patek, when I tried it on I fell in love with it. Sadly, my budget would not allow the purchase. I think reading the time will be easy after a few days and fun!

However chances are the stock is never very high given the model popularity, so if they discontinue it chances are the supply will dry out quickly.

Thanks for your input. I’m a bit frugal with money at present after purchasing my first house so any unnecessary expenses have to wait.
I’m pretty sure they’ll discontinue this line by the time I’ll be able to purchase it but who knows, maybe for something even better. I’ll wait and see. May I ask what sort of discount you managed to get % -wise. Stan

This is quite opposite of a collectors watch - they want classical watches rich in history, while this one is the opposite - many things Patek has never done before.
