Patek Philippe

I’ve never owned a new Patek (nor a pre owned) but want to treat myself for my 40th birthday (in 6 years). I know it’s a bit of a heads up but would like to get it on my birthday. Can any of you gentlemen (and women) tell me how difficult it is to get the... 

I see the 5235 in almost every AD I go into; I've been to ADs in Singapore, USA, and France in the past six months. They're readily available.

You should have no difficulties.

One at the London Salon and the other pre-owned at a great discount and in a great condition at a well-known store.

and even though I was actively looking, as I have had an interest in this particular reference for some time, I did not see a single 5235 on display either in NB St. or Knightsbridge. If my source is correct, 5235 will be discontinued soon.

I have not been to the salon recently but there is still one available (from 2014) in a well-known store specialised in pre-owned watches on NB street. You would need to call them first as it would not be in the shop, it is advertised on their website. Go... 

I agree with Janef and others that the dial is art. I am still getting used to reading the time, but it is very comfortable on the wrist, more so than the smaller but "headier" 5146, which tends to wobble on my wrist. Of course this watch is not everyone'... 

Well done and congratulations. It is my favourite Patek, when I tried it on I fell in love with it. Sadly, my budget would not allow the purchase. I think reading the time will be easy after a few days and fun!

"European Watch" in Boston has a nice used one for sale, if used is okay for you.

But what if in 4 years they stop producing it! It’s a model never done and unique for patek. The movement is exceptional and not in any other patek watch. I am going to receive mine in a few months. Don’t know much about the discount but you need to reall...

Life is too short. Get it now and enjoy. Celebrate life in the present. You never know what the future holds. You will not regret it. An extra 6 years of pleasure owning a Patek. Art for the wrist which gives you pleasure all day long. ...  

However chances are the stock is never very high given the model popularity, so if they discontinue it chances are the supply will dry out quickly.

Hi, I bought one of 5235 when it came out and and got a significant discount, there are great deals on them right now. It is a wonderful watch and quite unique in the Patek collections, movement only made for for that watch (for now), the only regulator P...  

I’m pretty sure they’ll discontinue this line by the time I’ll be able to purchase it but who knows, maybe for something even better. I’ll wait and see. May I ask what sort of discount you managed to get % -wise. Stan

for me it is a great watch but it has never caught traction with serious collectors. in a recent auction (i think in hongkong) it has properly bottomed out. so buy yes, but at a nice discount and don't believe the typical AD speak 'very rare watch, you ar... 

Perhaps partly because it is still in production? If you were interested in this watch, would you not be more inclined to buy it through an authorised dealer, rather than at an auction? I just took delivery of mine today at my local pp dealer, though I am... 

I think 5235 are not for everyone not the beginner collector of PP.. this is more for those very seasoned collectors. There are only that many season collector who will buy and keep while the rest just couldn’t keep it reasons could be they are after the ...

This is quite opposite of a collectors watch - they want classical watches rich in history, while this one is the opposite - many things Patek has never done before.

.. whether 5235 will be forgotten, become a collectors' piece in the future or, perhaps more likely, neither.

I checked around and the discounts on all Patek watches in this price range are the same, with that said I cannot shake the feeling with all others you are compromising because of money and not going straight for a PC. This watch has enough unique things ... 

As time goes along, I wasn’t sure anymore. Yes, it’s a unique Patek, and the first time that Patek did such timepiece. But for that amount, I’ll rather go for a Patek Chronograph such as the 5960 with a more useful complication. I believe it is not a smas...
