The 5711 is the subject of an unprecedented bubble, whereas its close peer, the RO, is not. Ten years ago, the valuations were much closer, and for a reason; they're comparable watches. That said, I obviously might be wrong about future valuations. Just to be clear, though, I'm not remotely biased in favor of the the AP brand over Patek. I own a Patek and not an AP, and in fact I sold my only AP -- a ROC -- a year ago because I had grown tired of it.

That RO is a beauty! It's a bit surprising you feel so different about the two pieces given how similar they are. It may at least be worth waiting a couple of years for the prices to come down and see if your feelings change.

If you had a 15202 Jumbo, I would’ve said hang on to it but personally I find the wearing experience of the 15400 to be quite different from the 5711 (or the 5167 for that matter) due to the thickness.
Keep the RO
It represents, imo, very well the heritage and the spirit of Gerald Genta. Furthermore, paying 58k a 5711 is just insane... Just my 2 cents

That's why you don't really like it. Money come, money go, sell the 15400 and buy what you desire.

You’ve made some money on the RO (through appreciation after you bought it), and the 5711 should hold its value given very limited supply barring a major financial crisis (in which case the value of the RO would fall too). Personally, I like the RO better...

Similar pedigree, similar segment. If anything it’s the RO that will fall more than the Nautilus, AP brand power is not that of PP.

So, it's all about how much they are worth and how desirable they are?
Rather than buying the watch that makes you happy? I can't afford either but I'd pick the AP over the PP in a heartbeat.
Obviously you should always buy the watch that makes you happy, BUT
not at the very top of the market. No harm in waiting for the bubble to burst.

If you are gonna spend that amount of money I would recommend go for a classy Patek 5711 is amazing but a royal oak is so so so similar and yet so much cheaper
