In general, collectors prefer to avoid polishing because it removes a small amount of the original metal layer and in order to maintain the original “integrity”/condition of a watch…unless it is in really bad shape and needs the polishing. In the case of your watch, the case looks great already, so no need for another polishing. Besides that, as long as the servicing is going to be done by the right people/person at the manufacturer, then there is little chance of ‘opening a can of worms’. Plus, the fall may have caused internal damage that may manifest later, so it’s not unreasonable to go ahead with servicing now for peace of mind. That’s the thinking. Good luck.

Shouldn’t be an issue typically
The most common issues that arise if you never service it: gaskets dry out and crack. Lubricants become gummy and slow mechanisms. I’m sure others here know far more, but those are the general problems

you can use a wide felt tip pen on the yellow gold case
where you can check for any-'cracks' in the case. the ink will show up any cracks-use a black felt tip pen.

One of the distinctive features of the 3445 is the very sharp pointed bevel on the top of the lugs. When a 3445 is polished the top of the lugs tends to become more rounded
and for me that greatly diminishes what made the 3445 special. Perhaps Patek can polish it in a way that avoids this pitfall. Perhaps not. I would proceed with caution if you are thinking of polishing this watch.
