By the case do you mean the actual watch metal case?
Silly question but how could the good case crack? I’ll double check tomorrow but at the time had a good look and couldn’t see any other damage. Mhmm that’s a good point. Now that I think of it I’m not sure if it was a direct hit on the crown. However, there’s no issue pulling out the crown, pushing it back in, winding it backward and forwards and setting the time. It still keeps good time. Got it, so no polish. Also it was dropped on a tiled floor, but I tried to break the landing so impact was reduced. Thanks so much!

Shouldn’t be an issue typically
The most common issues that arise if you never service it: gaskets dry out and crack. Lubricants become gummy and slow mechanisms. I’m sure others here know far more, but those are the general problems
Unfortunately i don’t have the answer. Best to send it in to the service center for PP to appraise and assess the extent of service required.

you can use a wide felt tip pen on the yellow gold case
where you can check for any-'cracks' in the case. the ink will show up any cracks-use a black felt tip pen.

One of the distinctive features of the 3445 is the very sharp pointed bevel on the top of the lugs. When a 3445 is polished the top of the lugs tends to become more rounded
and for me that greatly diminishes what made the 3445 special. Perhaps Patek can polish it in a way that avoids this pitfall. Perhaps not. I would proceed with caution if you are thinking of polishing this watch.
