Can we have a thread about the 5131 production numbers ?
By: Bruno.M1 : March 11th, 2017-02:33
I know this site doesn't like speculation and unofficial facts ... and I applaud that But can we have a respectable discussion? The thing is, I'm having a discussion with some other watch enthusiasts about the 5131. Let's say one thinks they make about 30...
sure

I do know quite a few AD and asked many times info about the enamel dial Mosts of these that I know get one every 2 till 4 years; so an average of 1 every 3 years Real BIG AD get 1 every 1 - 2 years Tere are about 400 AD in the world So this would mean ab...
Its not as simple....
By: Fricks : March 12th, 2017-16:03
A lot of AD's don't even see it, so the arithmetic doesn't really work here. Talking about AD's, from what i know, most of them are not well informed even if they act as they are. Only patek headquarters knows. About Chrono24, most pieces there are not av...

....yellow gold was introduced in 2008 and white gold in 2009. Both were in production for 5-6 years only, I believe before production stopped and switched to rose. Rose has been in production for 3-4 years now...I think. On average, seems production is a...

... sounds right. My guess is 300 in each metal... 900. And 100 of the futur P should logically be done. Making a total of 1000 pieces overall.
From today‘s perspective (2020)...

... more than 70 in J and R offered (5131) on chrono (I am excluding the white metals, even). That would typically imply a total production of at least 2,000 pieces. Maybe even heading towards 3,000 units in total.
Depends...
By: Baron - Mr Red : March 11th, 2017-04:21
.....5970 was a very low production watch. I would say just 100-150 made in P in total and just for one year. The other 5970 metals also low production. 5070P similarly was very low production as only produced for a year...supposedly 150-200 made. There a...
less 5070's
By: Bruno.M1 : March 11th, 2017-07:01
"There are plenty of other metal 5070s though.....probably around 400-500 per annum made through the multi-year production" nope, more or less 250 per year were made that is not speculation but something they once told us in their own Magazine for those t...

By: Baron - Mr Red : March 11th, 2017-07:20
it is odd that the secondary market pricing on the 5131 is so much stronger than the 5070. Without doubt, both references are seen as highly desirable and in demand....yet the market is telling us something quite clear....either demand for the 5131 is so ...

.....5070 has been out of production for a long time now and varies by metal.
the same .... that's why I don't agree with Baron here
By: Bruno.M1 : March 11th, 2017-08:39
secundair market pricing is not stronger, it is about the same 5131R today is I believe euro 60K, secondhand around 110 5070 was about 35 at the end, today it's between 60 and 70 for a G or R ... J starts at 55 but back in 2000 list was 28 Only difference...
Bruno...you miss one important issue....
By: Baron - Mr Red : March 11th, 2017-09:20
.....the 5070 is out of production....and has been for many years The price appreciation in 5070s has developed unevenly over the period where it has been out of production. But, supply has been fixed now for many years. With the 5131, it is still a refer...

Hey Baron ! We've talked on Instagram a few times, after reading through the thread I'm quite curious as to whether the numbers fro 5970P still stand today in your opinion. I thought it was generally accepted 5970P was made in approx. 600 examples ? Would...

Supply may be very dependent on nature of original owner.
Yes! [nt]
By: amanico : March 11th, 2017-05:39
Worth noting
By: sham1 : March 11th, 2017-18:35
That the main reason that there are more 5131s in the secondary market compared to the 5970 and 5070 is due to the fact that the 5131 has appreciated more than double its retail price and that makes it more lucrative to sell. The 5970 for example is a lot...

Some food for thought: How many pictures from 5131J/G/R owners have you already seen in watch forums and on Instagram? How many pictures from 5970P owners have you already seen in watch forums and on Instagram? How many pictures from 5070P owners have you...

I was told last January
By: beejo : March 11th, 2017-07:11
That they make around 3 per month,And that was by one of the Patek team (managerial post),Not an Authorized I think around 40 a year would make sense maybe 50 but not more I guess. Best, Ahmed

Semantics....many state that "it takes 1 week to make a dial"
By: Patekphilippecollector : March 11th, 2017-07:49
Whilst it may take 1 week with the various firings and cooling periods...it doesn\'t mean they only do one dial.....you could very easily do a number of dials and put them all in the kiln....it will still take 5 days but nobody has said they don\'t put 10...
dial production and 5131 production are 2 different topics
By: patrickh : March 11th, 2017-23:48
Due to the hype and the preferencies for this new map and combination, PP produced 5131R-001, 010 and now 011 version, just changing the cities ring. They could produce how many Asian-Americas dials as they could, keep them in the safe and insert them in ...

... they will try their best to male it look like low numbers are available only. If you look on the vast number of 5131 in the secondary market (speaking as of Apr-2020) they certainly made quite. big number (2000-3000).
