A night train takes from Helsinki to the Polar Circle. The cabins have own bathroom and the restaurant car offers good food and big verity of drinks. There are special car carrying wagons. In the morning when arriving the Polar Circle, just drive the car ...

I wanted to do the aurora's this year, heard that the solar activity has been greater than usual...but just understood what means to have 2 new babies at home... maybe next year; I was going to desist but the way you describe it seems doable even for me! ... 

There's no special solar activity just now. Just bright nights and mostly the Aurora is there. Some two months ago there was very strong solar activity. I called to my friend living here and asked how's the night sky. He answered: "Do you think I have not...

Just a flight to Helsinki and from Helsinki 1 h 30 mins with Finnair's A321 to Ivalo. Very often Aurora is visible already from the windows of the plane. Best, Kari

How far are you from Levi? I may be going to Levi in February and I was wondering if I will see the Northern lights at this time of the year?

southwest from here. I would guess that Levi is 80-100 km north from the Polar Circle meaning that Northern Lights are very common there. There's some great night life in Levi so be careful... Best, Kari

Once I decided to drive the desert road from Alexandria to Cairo and there was a sand storm. It was as impressive as a snow storm... Best, Kari

Your bad luck Kari,It happens like one day a year and specifically on that day you decided to take the Alex-Cairo road which we call the dessert road..... By the way there is a huge difference between both storms...Sand storm give me hard time breathing..... 

Normally I took the Delta Road but for some reason I wanted to drive fast. No, the storms are not the same. It's really slippery when it's snowing and snow does not sand blast the paint of the car. Best, Kari
