I think they are being a little harsh
It is obvious you are passionate about watches otherwise you wouldn't be spending considerable sums of money on Pateks. You come to this site for expertise opinions as an amateur watch collector, and you get shot down. Not everyone on this site is wealthy beyond all means and can afford to just buy what their heart tells them too. So soliciting advice on what makes for a better potential investment options as just one factor in making your decision is perfectly acceptable in my opinion. That said, I usually think with my heart, and this has resulted in my collection having no investment potential at all ! (except perhaps for my Zenith Type 20, LE 75 pieces.) All things being equal, if you like both watches equally, then choosing the one with the best investment potential is perfectly logical.

I would try to find a new 5070R. The line has been discontinued, but there are some new ones around. IMO the most beautiful PP on the market. The watch would also offer a stark contrast to your 5550P.

5970 is more beautiful for me
although I have no idea of investment. Watch shouldn't be treated primarily as an investment tool.
