I think they already did.
The 5212a is mentioned on the PP site as : "This steel Calatrava Weekly Calendar also houses a completely new self-winding movement with optimized performance."
So I have a strong feeling this is the new base 'platform'. I could be wrong ofcourse, but I have a feeling this will be the next platform they will use to build up from.

Is there room for a new entry-level Patek?
With all the talk about capping steel production, based on Joe Thompson's interview with Thierry Stern that was posted on Hodinkee last week, it makes me wonder if Patek has thought seriously about re-launching an updated and more interesting NEPTUNE line...

I think PP will release a new, larger movement to replace the 215...
so that a new, hobnail bezel watch won't have too small a porthole on the back. -Dean
