I can’t honestly say it’s beautiful, which would be a disservice to all the beautiful Patek references, including even other Aquanaut models. The dial is nice and iconic, but this wasn’t my first impression at all. So it was never on my ‘wish list’ for quite some time. What changed, however, was my appreciation for different features and also history of certain models, as informed by this great forum. Such positive influences explain my Reverso experience as well!
So, as I became more informed, I saw that my collection needed an Aquanaut.

I prefer the 5167 over the 5164 due to its thinness. So this piece is amongst my favorite among the Aquanaut models!
I confess that I also love a ‘weighty’ watch...
and that’s why the 5164 travel time would normally be my preference based on size. But i ultimately decided to go with this basic/classic. The 5968 with orange accents is next level Aquanaut, although Travel Time so practical.

Congratulations on acquiring a very special Patek. While I say “very special” the 5167A is an enigma to me. I do not find it to be beautiful, nor do I find it to be elegant.
