Patek Philippe

I like variety.

Though not strictly a Patek collector, I've got a Jaeger LeCoultre Master Perpetual 8 Days in rose gold which I bought because Jaeger's attention to detail is fantastic and I consider their pieces great value for what they are. I love its busy yet symmetrical dial, the detailing on the hands, the fact the power reserve is 8 days and I never have to correct it in my lifetime. I've got a Jaeger LeCoultre Master Hometime in steel which I wear to work. I love the silver, slightly pearlescent dial and the way you can hide the GMT hand. JLC use ceramic bearings in this movement which reduces friction and hopefully extends service intervals.

I also have two Rolex Submariners, a 16610 which is the most versatile wear anywhere watch, and a 116610LV which I rarely wear but love the look. I consider these to be rock solid work-horses. On the down-side, Rolexes have become very popular and I frequently see others wearing the same watch as me.

I recently bought a Patek Aquanaut 5167R because I wanted a robust rubber strapped watch in rose gold. Before buying, I looked at the AP Royal Oak Offshore, Rolex Daytona on an Oysterflex, Rolex Yachtmaster on an Oysterflex but preferred the simplicity and detail of the Aquanaut.

My collection will be complete when I see a chronograph that overwhelms me. I'll look to any brand that makes quality watches that innovate.
