I know you mentioned RG is not so much your taste...
But I think one of the most unique, engaging, and worthwhile Pateks is to be found in the 5224R. It has a fabulous case that has a stepped architecture and these wonderfully clear, legible numerals. It also employs lume in a non-revolting fashion—lume implementation on dress pieces usually makes me ill, but here it is both necessary and tasteful. One last thing—it's a unique take on a travel watch that doesn't rely on the aesthetics of the World Time, which I don't love. It also isn't a chronograph, so at least servicing will be less expensive than one of those! Altogether, I think it's one of the most interesting Pateks aside from the 5170R or G (with black dial and no scale, which looks significantly better). Here are some photos for your consideration:
