I'm with you on not paying a premium
I tell Car dealers the same thing, I will NEVER pay above sticker and sticker is no bargain. You definitely have to be patient & to pay a premium for run of the mill pieces is really dumb!!. I had 3 or 4 5970's pass thru my hands & let them all go below list in the last 18 months, the other day a guy tried to convince me that $185K was a good buy, I started laughing. If you stumble on a deal grab it, if you have more money than brains pay silly premiums hoping for gain. With Patek in my experience only very limited pieces are worth the gamble from an investment standpoint otherwise wear em & be happy. I have said before, I wear my 80K car for 3 years & dump it for 40K so what is it again we are bitching about???
Sorry... I don't agree...
