I'm not a PP buyer for the most part but this is actually a watch I do like (and the 5205 with similar dial layout for calendar).
Both models may possibly have a claim to the worst residual value of any complicated modern PP. [Mods, is this general statement ok on the topic of price?] The white 5960 in particular seems to be in every AD case and there are bundles of them for sale (BNIB) in the grey market.
It would be nuts to me that PP discontinuing this model would somehow raise the demand/price for this watch. Clearly too many were produced and clearly the core buyer does not like the model (same for the 5205). If that does happen then I have really underestimated the amount of sheep that collect watches.
That said, for those PP collectors who have been around for a while it's possible that this has happened before? Did I read somewhere that the 5070 was not so loved when in production, and clearly now the tide has changed. (I could be wrong about this, PP is not a brand/market I know much about). If so, appreciate any colour/history you could share.
I heard some rumors regarding 5960a w/ white dial.
Seen couple weeks ago back in December last yr, says that patek is discontinuing 5960 white dial. Has anyone heard something similar? Sourced from a collector on instagram. Still I can see it on pp website also I just paid a visit to the ad before Christm...

Some of the brand new 5960/1A are going for a big discount here in the UK. Good pre-owned examples are going for 25% less. I think it might be the bracelet that has divided the opinions. I guess we'll find out what happens to these pieces in a few years.
