May I ask, why the 5970g instead of the 3940p? Both are great watches and I am yet to decide on one rather than the other. Still looking at all the options.

the solid case back is standard on the 3940P, no sapphire back available. Regarding the dial of the platinum and WG, i had the opportunity at PP in Geneva to handle both models at the same time and the dials are exactly the same.
