Patek Philippe

How popular would a modern Patek Philippe Amagnetic be?

Not the only “tool” watch made by Patek Philippe, but perhaps the one that is most well-known and most deliberately marketed as a tool watch is the Reference 3417. This is possibly one of the most researched references amongst Patek Philippe Calatravas. It was one of the very first Calatravas to join my collection. Simple in design, yet distinctly functional with style.

In recent years, Patek Philippe has started to produce more “specialised” watches of this nature. For example the Pilot’s watch. I am curious, how popular would a modern rendition of the 3417 be amongst collectors? A modern steel amagnetic Calatrava? Of course, it doesn’t have to be in steel as some of the vintage amagnetics also came in gold. But in principle, do you think a modern re-edition of an amagnetic tool watch would be lukewarm, popular, hugely popular or off-the-scale popular. A Patek Milgauss if you like?
