"Reedition" sounds a bit like a copy of the old model to me. But I would be very interested in a contemporary Calatrava Antimagnetic which offers a progress in design and technique but respects the history of this model as well. Not an easy job I fear ๐
Not the only โtoolโ watch made by Patek Philippe, but perhaps the one that is most well-known and most deliberately marketed as a tool watch is the Reference 3417. This is possibly one of the most researched references amongst Patek Philippe Calatravas. I...
I would love to see that... Even if it would be the beginning of a delicious nightmare, as I would have to get the vintage and he original, so I would double the pain. For the moment, I am sticking to the 3417 as my first vintage Patek. And yours is in te...
.....I think I would definitely be interested in the watch if they made one. Of course, one can never tell what it might be like, but as a concept it really appeals to me.
very hard to get and break your bank kind of watches. Great example is the Speedmaster Trilogy. I'm sure this 3417 will also go crazy with the crowd, like the 300pcs limited Geneva boutique SS Calatrava. For a modern guy like me, who are lazy to hunt, unf...
Itโs a lucrative business for those unethical โmakersโ who can pull it off. Maybe Patek, not just vintage Patek, with its records and archives, makes it harder to reproduce than Rolex where you cannot see or hard to judge even from the movements. Anyway, ...
Hunt is fun...hunt is rewarding cos in the end you make a kill I had same problem around uncertainity and unfamiliarity but I decided to learn and read and observe and then again to learn and read and observe....and then again and suddenly fog lifted and ...
...as for me I would still go for the vintage one. I know a welldone reedition is quite respectable (think of the JLC Geophysic...) but what I like in these ones is the charm of a piece that has a history and that has a soul ! Maybe I should evolve and co...
Make no mistake . I would most likely try and get one of it was relaunched but I have reservations 1. It would not be similar to the original- size, dial configuration 2. It would not be the original- above and also the movement 3. I am a Purist ( purist)...
Similarly, a re-edition would not have the authenticity that ticks the boxes for me. Having said that, I would see it as a fun Watch and one that would get a lot of wrist time as such.
only when in steel and a bigger size it will get attention 37mm gold and there will be overstock pretty fast 41-42 mm steel and it will be popular and will have a big waiting list
That would be wonderful and hopefully two versions: steel and platinum. If you have a good contact to the source, I would like to order both. Best, Kari
