Patek Philippe

Excellent points and viewpoints BUT have one question

I completely agree and concur on all the points stated.  There is one thing more that begs the question if Patek will embrace…that is the use of 21st century’s technology.  I understand the core of Patek is tradition and following what has been done for years, specifically ownership documents.  The Certificate of Origin has always been in the past been non-replaceable.  Which means if an owner looses his paperwork, the only way to verify authenticity would be to request for an extract from the archives.  This was done routinely in the past by greys in order to sell watches so they do not reveal whom the original owners were.  Patek changed the policy of requesting archive documents in order to clamp down on this practice.  Going further, what I’m asking is the use of blockchain technology or even NFTs to improve upon the transparency on the chain of ownership.  Of course, owner information will not be revealed to the general public but Patek would hold the information on such a blockchain that there is a clear and concise way to track ownership for those references that are easily “flipped”.  For a secondary buyer, he/she will know the watch is genuine and comes with “papers”.  For owners the ledger will prove ownership even if they lost their documents.  When they sell, they would transfer ownership of the NFT which is instant and quick…

Just a thought…
