Patek Philippe

Inspired for the upcoming novelty I went to try the Patek 5960/1A-001 (mysteriously one of the most available models in the Patek catalogue!) and I am looking for some opinions. I know that Kari is a big fan (and that is a bit of guarantee ) I like the br...  

with the white dial, it doesn't work for me. With a black dial....yes that is more cohesive for my taste.

they strongly advised not to change to strap as that will void the warranty, saying the watch does not match description etc... For your case, no problem since you like the bracelet. I also saw this one display at Munich last June, so maybe its a good con... 

plan to change the strap and I am checking re: getting a good dial. Somehow I like more the white dial (I have a nautilus white) because it feels more sporty and legible. Still thinking about the price/value here Christian

the warranty will be void if you alter something. I'm not sure how they can tell if you the bracelet back beforesend to service. Rgds Raymond

If i had a problem with a watch movement in warranty that they refused to correct because I had changed the strap, I would be furious. I just don't believe this is correct.

5960/1A does not have a strap in their catalog...Aquanaut is ok because it's an option. For other watches, from one strap to another strap, my gut says it should be ok but you can verify.

As Raymond said, if the watch is significantly modified, Patek is warning that they may not accept to deal with the consequences. And I think that's normal. Of course, if you change your bracelet to strap and go back to bracelet for a servicing, as long a...

of course I know that some owners liked on a strap. Still to be the bracelet is super comfortable. If it was on a strap I wouldn't consider it at all..

There are 60, 30 and 12 rings, but only 2 hands in that subdial. My apologies if It's super obvious!

if it is on the first half of an hour, you will read the minute hand that shows between 0-30 minutes. If the hour is in the second half, it is the other minute scale. Best, Mark

I find the dial to lack the elegance of the other versions (plat, rose, white gold moscow). I am certainly not alone. Market speaks loud and clear. The fact is the majority of collectors simply do not like the watch and that is why supply far exceeds dema... 

to me it doesn't matter but I like to get some advice and see the different opinions.

I have the steel version with white dial and the platinum version with black dial. I wear the steel watch at least 10 x more than the platinum 5960. In the end I find it as an asset that one can wear the steel version either with strap or bracelet. White ... 

I have ended up wearing mine more frequently than I originally thought that I would. I personally prefer white and have had some legibility issues with Patek black dials in the past. Of course that is a matter of personal preference.

in face this is pretty significant for someone with such a great collection to wear this more than others. For me this is the main concern right now, to get something that I would wear a lot thanks Christian

of course is a bit of a myth but being so comfortable (and practical) it might be a good idea for a watch that will see a lot of wrist time.

I like how infos are displayed, its wonderful case etc... The A versions are definitely very different from the previous Pt and rose gold versions. The white dial, to me, is the sportiest and has this very unique "racing look" the black dial doesn't have....

and the steel is no exception. I know there are many opinions on the bracelet, mostly from non-owners it seems. I really think this bracelet is well constructed and extremely comfortable. The only (and this is a slight only) qualm about this sporty refere... 

is the water resistance that doesn't let it be that sporty! this said I still like it and I feel I would wear it a lot. Still considering given the price point for steel

... that looks great on you! In my opinion the original bracelet should stay on the watch, which makes the complete look of the watch. Is there such a thing as *final* watch?

I would leave the bracelet on, especially when travelling as you can sweat. If one's business is more desk work, than happily with a bracelet.

I think is very practical and a great complication.

I went for one and have not regretted the decision. An incredible versatile, good-looking, piece from Patek.

but the dial is overly bestudded. No match for Zenith's colorful El primero Chronograph in my humble opinion. The movement may be superior but I do not know that. I would wait in line for the perfect love. Cheers Edward
