Patek Philippe

My watch dreams are in rose gold. And when I dream of adding a Patek Philippe to my collection, I think of one of these four references (at least for now). What they have in common for me is, in particular, a case with curves rather than angles and a case...

Just perfect complication

You never go wrong with a classy petite seconde calatrava. The case is very thin and elegant. it will never go out of style

And I find it to be one of the nicest calatravas I know (but of course there are many I just don’t know of).

This one or a beauful Golden Ellipse

Like you I have a strong preference for the curvier Patek cases over the more angular... but I count the 5196, with its flat bezel, as *not* among the curvy. Here's the lovely 5110R I was the relatively brief owner of--brief because I realized that the G ...

PP cases are gorgeous...coming from a Lange fan! 5960 for me!

I find the Lange cases a tad more “rigid” (not the right word though). And the sporty look of the 5960 isn’t very attractive.

Lange is more angular, rigid, less emotive I guess. fantastic finishing though and I love that! Funny, I don't find the 5960 sporty, I see elegance and class!

As for the 5960, I completely agree that it has elegance an class. But it's a chrono, with what I see as sporty touches: the red hand & numerals of the sub dial.

I was just looking at the case design, shapes, curves, not the dial.

5050 for vintage esque charm. Love that dial with retrogrades

The 5110R is SOOOO nice. It's thin. It's elegant. The 5960R is very nice too, but it's really quite thick. Vertical clutch, so has to be about 1mm thicker than normal chronographs. Really cool watch. And I really like the 5196J too - although the 215 move... 

Not having seen any of these four in real life, it's just pure dream for the moment. But at least, I have an idea of what I would like to see someday!

vintage feel ! For me, 5110 is a special reference, giving the aura of traveling the globe

and very attractive, no doubt about that!

But my personal choice without a moment's hesitation would her 5050. Full perpetual with moonphase, retrograde date and sweep seconds. And (at least at this point in time) vastly under appreciated and undervalued. And to my eye, exceptionally beautiful. B...

not the most incredible watch but quintessential Calatrava and they size is perfect IMO. The 5050 gets extra points for quirkiness, a lovely reference

But, for now I'm just enjoying daydreaming. And the 5196 & 5050 are really beautiful timepieces to dream about! Best.

If I have to pick one between these two, I'd say 5196 as it is simpler and "less is more".

Particularly in the case of the 5196.. Classic minimalist and just a perfect timepiece. Joy to wear. ...

over the years, I like simpler calatrava like the 5196, 570, 2508/9. If I could only keep one Patek, it would be 5050. Mech Happy New Year and Mery Xmas

I still have to see it in real life someday… As for the 2508, I think I haven’t payed enough attention to this reference: I love the case profile and will try to see it in the metal. Merry Christmas and happy holidays to you and your loved ones.
