I thought that a grand complication should look grand, no need to hide like a white metal and I like RG too….too bad it was sold before I could get to it. Any version of the 5270 is nice, imo.
Wearable grand complications, elegant and refinement….so actually 3 reasons 😁 I have tried other PCCs but none can compete with Patek, just yet. Still in honeymoon. ...
I feel Patek easily wins against modern AP perpetuals for the reasons you like your PCC. But I wonder about certain historical AP perpetuals…those were really something special. I do wonder how they measure up head to head.🤔
AP doesn’t feel I’m worthy of their watches and they can go kiss someone else’s A** I will not give my money to them 👎🏻 It might sound funny but if I will to own an AP, I will buy them at deep discounts from grey only, no BS.
which isn’t to make excuses. But I’d bet if you approached them now or coming months, the experience would be better, especially at an AP House from what I hear. Still, you are correct that given the normalization trend, you would be able to get exactly w...
I used to have my name with a certain boutique but the sales is more associated with rap stars, sports person…was offered the first gen Code which I declined and heard nothing for years. Last year, I visited local west coast boutique and registered my int...

A Perpetual Calendar and a Tourbillon... THAT is the definition of Grande Complication. I never understood why Patek felt the need to call the rest grande complication... Best, Nicolas
For the rest of us peasants, this is the top grand complication, haha. I don’t need a minute repeater or tourbillon, no change since many years ago, as I wrote in my POTM self intro, along with few other members, here on WPS 😬
The definition I’ve found on internet says (for what it’s worth: once again, I’m really ignorant about this topic): chrono comp. + astronomical comp. (but not necessarily a perp. cal.: it mentions a simple calendar or a moonphase) + acoustical comp. (incl...
We had private emails about that for the fun of it. And we fell on a classic definition which was at least a chrono, a perpetual calendar and a minute repeater. Some added a tourbillon.
Even when I have to admit that I'm not a fan of the chin. But hey, there are variants of 5270s out there for almost every individual taste. The 5270G-001 was my choice. Was happy that this is a less attractive version, so I could afford it 😉 ...
Always 2 sides on a coin, the 5970 only has 5 variants, and you might see someone with same dial, but highly unlikely since only rumored to be only 2800 pcs total production. I don't mind a 5270 and I think mine may be less attractive than your -001, so I...
It was introduced over 80 years ago in 1941. Phillips NY watch auction this past weekend by coincidence sold one or more variations of each of the PCCs - 1518, 2499, 3970, 5020, 5970 and 5207. Plus 5004 and 5204. Beautifully photographed and with very wel...
