5990
Sep 25, 2018,13:44 PM
I only have the 5990 and it’s my de facto travel watch. It is very comfortable and well polished. With stainless steel all around, I don’t have to worry about it being scratched here and there. The travel time and chrono functions make it very useful on the go.
I wish the case was thinner so that I could use it as dress watch on the go, and more stiff travel time buttons to avoid accidental pushes that adjusted the local travel time.
Overall, it’s a very well executed, functional, and under the radar kind of watch.

Both are great pieces, but the 5990 is unique in that it’s the only watch Patek manufactures with that movement - travel time, chrono, date. Most other Patek references use movements from one watch to another, but the 5990 movement solely for the 5990 Tha...

The time pusher is not a problem in general when wearing the watch. However, I did find myself pushing the button occasionally when either handling it off wrist or pushing the chrono.
5990 for me.

I've tried them last week, both being sporty. But I prefer an all steel version for a Nautilus, plus the 5990 had a stronger presence on my wrist. But it's up to you of course. Aris
