If you have not already, I would suggest you have a look at one of the recent forum threads that focus on the dial differences between the 3940 and the 5140. Some fair points made on the differences between the two models.
I recently went the through the choosing process (possibly the best part in the process) and ended up with a 5140G. My wrist measures 7.5 and I do enjoy the extra 1.2mm and personally not bothered the slightest by the criticism surrounding the dial. I enjoy the contemporary and fresh feel of the dial on the 5140 and would make the same choice any day if I had to do it over.
However this is just me. In the end you have to go with what you feel is right and wait until you feel certain it is the right decision. Only you know what is right for you. Good luck!

in the size. The case of 3940 is 36 mm and 5140 37.2 mm. The movements are just the same, the bezels a bit different and the dials are also a bit different. I like the dial of 3940 more but I still have 5140. The reason is that the platinum version of 514...
